Ally Work Questions

In Ally Work Questions we explore the practice of ally work through the questions that each of us have as practitioners. The session has a contemplative, reflective, and dialogic character — reflective of the practice of ally work itself. As such, we are engaging in a process of inquiry, rather than intellectualization and definitive answer-seeking.

The session begins with a minute of quiet, followed by a 10-15 minute reflection from the host, Barnaby Willett, on themes related to ally work. We’ll then be invited to silently reflect on a question that is alive for each of us in relation to the practice of ally work – and to briefly journal about that question and its meaning for us. Next we’ll take turns sharing what came up for us. Then we’ll enter into an open group dialogue for the remainder of the session.

The intention for Ally Work Questions is to allow each of us to identify and explore questions relevant to our practice in a community setting. This allows us the possibility to receive support and reflection on our individual questions, and to hear questions that others are experiencing in their practice. It gives us the chance to experience both the commomalities — the shared being — of our practice, while respectfully appreciating the unique points of view that each of us bring to the work.

Sessions do not have a monetary cost, but ask each person for their attention, contribution to discussion, and presence on camera.
